Monkey D. Luffy, also known as "Straw Hat Luffy," is the main protagonist of the anime series One Piece.
Luffy's journey begins in the very first episode of the anime, titled "Romance Dawn - The Beginning of the Adventure." He is introduced as a young man with the dream of becoming King of the Pirates, inspired by his childhood idol, the pirate Shanks.
Luffy possesses the powers of the Gum-Gum Fruit, a paramecia-type Devil Fruit that has given his body the properties of rubber. This ability allows him to stretch and contort his body in extraordinary ways, granting him unique fighting capabilities.
